Cebu City—In order to raise the importance of communication within the organization, the Regional Branch promotes the proactive programs to the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Industry Tripartite Peace Council (SSITC) during the council’s General Membership Meeting cum Learning Session last December 14.
The activity drew 101 participants composed of locators and sub-contractors of the West Cebu Industrial Park, Balamban, Cebu.
Supervising Labor Employment Officer Rex P. Ramos in his discussion on Labor Management Cooperation emphasized that there is a need to harmonize ideas and perceptions to avoid misunderstanding which unprevented could be a potential source of disputes and conflict.
He stressed that LMC is a proactive mechanism where employees and management can discuss issues and concerns at the plant level.
“The grievance machinery is a bi-partite mechanism that can be used to resolved grievances at the plant.” emphasized Senior LEO Remus M. Caducoy.
Senior LEO Caducoy who discussed the grievance machinery and voluntary arbitration programs further expounded on the importance and benefits of such mechanisms.

Meanwhile, during the open forum a number of companies expressed that they have a mechanism where employees and management discusses their respective issues and concerns.
